Sustainability is a cause close to our hearts. We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, using resources responsibly and helping children understand how small, thoughtful actions can make a meaningful difference to our planet.

Our Solar Impact

We have installed solar panels at the nursery, allowing us to generate clean, renewable energy and reduce our reliance on traditional energy sources.

So far, our solar energy system has achieved:

• 64,624 kg of CO₂ emissions reduced

• An environmental benefit equivalent to 64,818.4 trees planted

• An annual oil-saving impact of 7,972.6 litres

These achievements represent an important step towards creating a greener nursery and a more sustainable future for the children in our care.

Reducing Everyday Waste

We continually review our daily routines to find practical ways to reduce waste. We have removed disposable paper towels from the nursery and replaced them with energy-efficient, low-power hand dryers.

We have also replaced disposable face wipes with reusable face cloths. These are washed hygienically in-house, significantly reducing the amount of single-use waste produced by the nursery.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Reducing waste is part of everyday nursery life. Every room has its own recycling bins, making it easy for both children and staff to sort recyclable materials and dispose of waste responsibly.

Before throwing anything away, we consider whether it could be given a new purpose. Cardboard boxes, tubes, containers and other suitable materials are regularly transformed into imaginative role-play resources, models and arts-and-crafts projects.

Whether a cardboard box becomes a castle, a shop or a spaceship, these activities show children that everyday objects can be reused rather than simply discarded. This helps develop their creativity while introducing the principles of reducing, reusing and recycling in a fun and meaningful way.

Saving Water

Water conservation is another important part of our sustainability approach. Our toilets use short-flush settings wherever appropriate, helping to reduce the amount of water used throughout the day.

We also collect and store rainwater in an Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC). This water is used to care for our outdoor plants and garden areas, reducing our need to use fresh mains water.

For us, sustainability is not only about making changes to our building—it is also about inspiring the next generation.

Through gardening, recycling, saving water and learning about the natural world, the children begin to understand how their everyday choices can help protect the planet. These simple experiences encourage a lifelong respect for nature and the environment.
