As the children become skillful communicators and their imaginations blossom they enjoy the new challenges that are available in the Bumblebees room. With skilled adult support and guidance the children continue on their learning journey, participating in a wide range of activities, which include messy play offering sensory experiences such as magic soap, slime and play dough, arts and crafts involving lots of paint, glue and textured materials, mark-making using chalks, paints, pens and pencils, heuristic resources to inspire imaginations, construction activities and small world play.
Sand and water play are a big favourite, as is role-play, where developing imaginations come alive! Counting and new language is encouraged by caring, experienced staff at every opportunity. The staff love to share books with the children and use their story telling skills to ensure the children are fully engaged! The children’s interests are followed as much as possible and stimulating experiences are planned around these interests.
The children also explore the outside daily, enjoying the separate areas that are on offer in the big garden and visiting the paddock, which houses our chickens and provides a variety of stimulating learning experiences, including lots of investigation and developing physical skills climbing on the logs!
